$56,000,000 Verdict In Longest Civil Trial In History Of New York!

On August 3, 2015 a New York County Jury ended the longest trial in the history of the Manhattan Courthouse by assessing $24 Million in punitive damages in addition to the nearly $32 Million awarded to my client, the family of Ramadan Kurtaj, who was killed when a tower construction crane collapsed and fell on him on May 30, 2008.

Jury selection began September 8, 2014. Over 60 witnesses testified and more than 600 exhibits were introduced into evidence. Ultimately, the jury concluded that the crane collapsed because of shortcuts that the owner of the crane company, James Lomma, took in repairing a critical crane component.
